Gunn: Bolts Back In Black – A Photo Journal

by Christine Gunn | Posted on Saturday, November 15th, 2014

The Lightning unveiled their new third jersey on September 27 during Fan Fest at Amalie Arena. The Bolts wore the third jersey, which is black and features the BOLTS logo, for the first time on Thursday night vs. the San Jose Sharks.

Our photographer, Christine Gunn worked the game and provides an inside look through her trained eye.

I don’t like the “Kings South” jerseys, but these pics are awesome! Very well done.

Thank you so much for the comment! I’m thrilled you enjoy the photos. I’ve heard a lot of people make the “Kings South” reference, but I think the only thing similar is they are black. The stripes are different, the colors are different. I think they’re pretty sharp. :)

Fresh photos! Your site does a great job with the images. Ones I have never seen anywhere else. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much! Personally, that is what I strive for and I know Lightning Shout does the same with their content. Stay tuned for many more cool things coming up!

I hate the “BOLTS” logo but the black jerseys etc. look great. Really nice pics too.

Thank you so much for the comment! I’m thrilled you enjoy the photos. I think they look better in person than in photos, but that’s just me. Maybe in the future we will see the Lightning logo on black, but I’m still a fan.

The difference between your site and the other Lightning sites is the writing by Alexis Boucher and Benjamin Woodward and the photography of Christine Gunn and Susan Ferlita. These photographs make me feel that I am at the game, even though I cannot attend them. Many sites use stock photographs or steal them from Getty Images. Your site provides ORIGINAL images that were taken by talented photographers. I don’t know how you were able to find such brilliant writers and photographers, but please keep it up. I’m disabled and can’t go to the games, but you make it possible for me to still keep up via your site and your unbelievable fan engagement on Twitter, Facebook and Google+. Keep up the great work!!
